NEWS: Big turnout expected for first TLI Eurovets round this weekend

The Orchid Eurovets series begins at Horspath this weekend, and organisers are expecting record breaking numbers of Cycle Speedway veterans to be taking part.

Tapes will fly up at 1pm on Saturday 26th April for the start of the first independently ran event through TLI. It could prove to be a testing time for the organisers, as past events have always included all riders riding against each other, and qualifications for the category finals have been taken from this inclusive format. The current record high of participants stands at 30. If the numbers are above 32, and that’s a real possibility, there may be a split, separating the over 40s from the over 50s.

All riders are asked to be present in plenty of time to sign on and enable the organisers to concoct a competition draw. As the Orchid Eurovets embarks on the new venture of promoting under TLI Cycling, officials have stated that all riders will need to be a TLI Cycling member. Alternatively day licenses are available on the day, but the most cost effective way of racing will be to go to the TLI Cycling website and become a member.

We look forward to covering this year’s series and hope to bring you all the latest news, photos and videos as they happen.
