POLISH LEAGUE: Results from Round 4

Here are the results and scorers from round for of the DMP Polish League.

The surprise result of round 4 of the Extraliga was at Gniezno where the home side, trailing 64-63 with three heats remaining, shocked visitors Czestochowa with a late surge to win by six. The rider doing the damage was former Poole rider Michel Nowak with race wins in heats 14 and 15 while world champion Marcin Szymanski’s day ended disappointingly for the visitors with an exclusion and a last place.

2013 Champions Torun recalled Rafal Dulinski to their team for the trip to old rivals Leszno and his presence just tipped the balance in favour of the visitors who strengthened their bid to retain the title. Their biggest threat could yet come from Ostrow who grabbed an impressive 8 point victory at Swietochlowice with only Kamil Bielica and Steve Harris able to offer serious opposition for the hosts. With Horspath bound Bartosz Grabowski inspiring his team with 4 race wins Ostrow had the better balanced side and deserved their victory.
