MATCH REPORT: Hawks on the pace at Kesgrave

Hethersett Hawks kept up their challenge to the Ipswich teams in Division One of the South-East League with a good win at Kesgrave despite being without three of their top riders.

Led by superb performances from Richard Williamson and Oliver Riley and boosted by the return of David Adams at substitute they built on a steady start to lead by six points at the interval. Key race was heat 6 when Adams joined Lee Grange for a 7-3 win over the experienced home pairing of Ingram and Zagni. Kesgrave got a 7-3 win of their own in heat 14 to narrow the deficit but the Hawks closed ranks and sealed victory with a shared heat in the penultimate race.
