NEWS: Hellingly v Swindon off

Although it’s not been 100% confirmed on the British Cycling website, it looks as though the South and South Wales match between Hellingly and Swindon will not longer go ahead, due to a lack of Swindon riders.

It’s a massive shame for the Swindon team, who have been inundated with injuries throughout the campaign after making a strong start. They should not be too disheartened as they’re doing some solid ground work. For example, the local Scouts group have gone along to the Oasis Leisure Centre circuit for training sessions on a number of occasions this year.

Hopefully they will bounce back in 2015, fresh and with one or two new recruits, perhaps even taking a leaf out of Birmingham’s book and attracting former riders out of retirement. The Monarchs currently sit top of the Midland League after initially fielding Dave Ball of East Park in their first league fixture, due to rider unavailability.
