MATCH REPORT: Coventry League Round 3

Spectators at Hearsall Common were treated to one of the closest contests that Coventry has hosted on Sunday afternoon when Round 3 of the Coventry League marched into town.

Brandon, who were unbeaten in the opening two rounds, could’ve sealed victory if they won the meeting, however Coventry had other ideas as they secured a last heat victory.

Charlie Barnett swept across his grid 1 rival in the final race of the afternoon to earn 3.5 points for Coventry as they finished level on points with the Bees. Warwick Royals fell a point short of shared victory – Jake Slatter’s fall in his final ride had a significant impact on the complexion of the race meeting.

Earlsdon meanwhile did well to keep with the pace of their three rivals as they tracked just a trio of riders. Daniel Drewett dropped two points on his way to 14 points overall whilst Ollie Morris also impressed scoring 14 too.

Brandon 44, Coventry 44, Warwick 43, Earlsdon 43
