MATCH REPORT: Junior Monarchs complete busy weekend at East Park

The Junior Monarchs traveled across the Midlands to Wolverhampton to the home of the Wolves of East Park. The Monarchs were missing Ewan Hancox and Emily Pitt (racing in the Womens League) so senior riders Richard Stevenson and Steve Hodgkinson filled their places.

The Wolves proved a very strong outfit with plenty of young talented riders and turned out comfortable winners on the day, Besides an opening heat win drawn heat won by Hodgkinson the next 3 heats went the way of the home side who moved ten ahead (25-15).

The next 4 heats were drawn, with perhaps a little assistance from the home riders allowing the younger Monarch men to race ahead to score points. A grand gesture by the Wolves riders. The Monarchs finished off with a maximum as Hodgkinson allowed Billy Winwood to race clear on the 2nd bend whilst youngsters Liam Cartwright and Josh Whetton for the Wolves certainly never gave up challenging.

A further individual meeting took place after the League encounter with the riders already present which was won by an unbeaten Brandon Whetton.
