WEEKEND REPORT: Wednesfield in Poland

Wednesfield Aces travelled to Poland at the end of last week for a challenge match against Torun, and to watch the final round of the motor speedway GP on Saturday evening.

Here’s a snippet from the programme notes:

TSZ Torun extends a warm welcome to our friends from Wednesfield Cycle Speedway Club!

The Aces! We are very proud to see you in Torun to take part in our Celebrations, we very well remember the Aces hospitality during the 2012 euro championships staged in England and would like to express our gratitude, we hope that YOU HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND FULL RACING, AND OFF TRACK SOCIAL EVENTS.

Roger Ellis commented, “What a great weekend the Wednesfield Aces had in Torun, Poland. With Friday evening social events first, then taking on the Torun cycle speedway club on Saturday.

The Match was ran in great spirit on a very tricky track. Up to heat 17 the score was 86-84 to Torun and a last heat 7-3 going to the Torun Boys. Afterwards a few beers and food, then onto the Speedway Grand Prix Final in the Evening. What a great Speedway final, then we all ended up in Torun centre for a night on the town. Great tour, just like to thank the Torun club for a great weekend.”
