NEWS: Eurovets Promotor Praises TLI Cycling

Eurovets Grand Prix promotor Fred Rothwell has praised TLI Cycling as being “great to deal with” after another successful season of veterans racing concluded at the final round at Wednesfield last Saturday week.

Former British Vets champion Rothwell, also a Cyclo Cross organiser, took the Eurovets GP series to the hosting of TLI Cycling on the eve of this season back in March. This move was the first time any Cycle Speedway activity had been run under a different umbrella for over a decade.

The 10 round series kicked off at Hospath in April and the season long event included meetings at Coventry, Poole, Sheffield, Newport, Glasgow, Hull, Northumbria, Ipswich and finally Wednesdfield. The 2014 series raised £600 for the male charity, Orchard.

Rothwell is thrilled with the new relationship he has forged with TLI. The genial Yorkshireman said: “Its been another successful series made better by the easy approach and courteous behaviour of the TLI Cycling administrators. They have been a pleasure to deal with”.

Rothwell has been particularly impressed by the donation, by TLI Cyling, of two sets of championship winning race shirts. The first set were provided at short notice for the final round at Ashmore Park, whilst the second set, which will be long sleeved and fully over-printed with Eurovets/Cycle Speedway branding, will be with the winners shortly. These costs are to be met by TLI Cycling.

And in a further gesture by the user friendly TLI Cycling people, and without solicitation, they are also providing a full set of gold, silver and bronze
medals for all three Eurovets categories. Rothwell added: “Provision of champions shirts and medals, without any cost to our Eurovets events, just shows how welcoming TLI Cycling have been”.

TLI Cycling is a voluntary cycling organisation. It hosts Road & Circuit, Off-Road, Time Trials and Cycle Speedway events. It is run on a not-for-profit basis entirely by unpaid volunteer members, any surplus being used to maintain, improve and develop TLI Cycling’s activities.
