NEWS: Angell to present Coventry awards

Coventry Cycle Speedway club, fresh from a successful season at Hearsall Common, today confirmed the booking of three times British champion Andy Angell as their special VIP Guest of Honour at their gala End of Season Party & Presentation Evening.
Hull superstar Angell will present all the awards at the Coventry evening, which will take place this Saturday (15th November) at The Craftsman, Beake Avenue, Holbrooks, Coventry. CV6 2HQ. The fun starts at 7.30pm. Admission is £1.50, available on the door. Everyone is welcome.

He will present a brand new trophy to the Brandon Bees, winners of the newly introduced Coventry League. He will also crown the junior and senior `Rider of the Year` and `Clubman of the Year`. All the Coventry junior riders will receive an award.

Angell is a popular figure at Coventry since training at the track in July 2013 in preparation for the majestically staged British Final at the Hearsall Common venue at month later. His training visit attracted a number of the Coventry juniors and the Hull speedster was gracious in the amount of time he then gave in advising and coaching the youngsters.

Coventry official Mark Phillips said: “Andy has proved to be a model British champion, well liked and respected by all, particularly all of us at Coventry. We shall be pleased to extend a very warm welcome to him on Saturday for what promises to be a great evening.” Joe McLaughlin added, “Party on!”
