INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS: Senior Team Final – Aces high as red mist descends on Ryton

Horspath’s Ryan Taylor and Dave Carmichael both received red cards in Sunday nights hotly contested Senior Team Final as Wednesfield Aces won the meeting ahead of East Park in second and Sheffield in third, making it a hat trick of gold medals for Wednesfield’s Ricki Johnson.

Taylor was involved in an incident and was deemed to be the cause of the stoppage – forcing referee Bob Prince to exclude him. However Taylor didn’t react kindly to the news and hit out at referee Bob Prince earning him a red card for “physical abuse”.

Furthermore, Dave Carmichael then continued to sport his disbelief at the decision made and repeatedly swore at referee Prince right in front of our 33/18 trackside reporter.

Water bottles were then aimed at Prince who ordered a 5 minute break on the meeting whilst matters were resolved.

Following a lengthy delay, Wednesfield ran out eventual winners beating East Park and Sheffield to the title. Birmingham finished fourth, Poole fifth and a depleted Horspath side failed to defend their title finishing last.
