NEWS: More venues announced for ICSF Worlds and British weekend

The most up to date British Cycling calendar has been released and with it details on some of the venues for the up coming Worlds and British Weekend, the latter hosted in the South East.

If you thought Ipswich for the British Final, you’d be correct! The Senior Open, U16 and Women and Girls are all confirmed on the calendar as being at Ipswich. The other meetings for the British Weekend are so far yet to be confirmed. The South East last had the British Weekend in 2011, where Andy Angell was crowned champion for the first time in Norwich.

Moving on to the Worlds. The Individual Senior, Junior and Women’s World Finals will take place at Ashmore Park, Wednesfield on 9th August 2015. Qualifiers and Quarter finals will take place in the South and South Wales region at a yet to be confirmed venue. The Semis will take place at Birmingham and East Park, with the Wolverhampton club also hosting the Federation Cup on 8th August. The Pairs and Team Cup qualifiers also take place in the South and South Wales region.

Poole host the World Team Cup finals at the Harbourside on 2nd August, along with the Women’s individual semis. The over 40s qualifiers and final take place on the same day at Leicester, 7th August.

Support matches including the Team GB v Australia test matches are spread across the two weeks, starting in the South and South Wales for week one and moving to the Midlands in week 2, where Coventry are confirmed to host the third and final GB v Australia test match on 6th August 2015.

It looks set to be a great summer of Cycle Speedway action, with many chances to watch the World’s best riders take the stage and serve up some quality racing.
