RIDER NEWS: Adam receives Young Volunteer award for 2015

Wednesfield Aces Cycle Speedway club’s popular youngster Adam Tipton (pictured left) has received the prestigious DR Josh Johnston Young Volunteers ward from the Wolverhampton city sports advisory committee.

Adam received his award from the Mayor of Wolverhampton and Peter Holmes M.B.E at a civic reception on Tuesday evening along with other member of the Aces committee who were also receiving various awards as well.

Adam was nominated for the work that he does at the aces, for voluntary work both on and off the track. On race days he’s an active member of the club in helping set up the match day facilities and can regularly be seen as the flag marshal for the Aces’ Elite League and the Wednesfield Dragons matches.

He was also bestowed the honour of being the flag marshal for the recent  Men’s world Cycle Speedway final in August, a job he carried superbly. On Tuesday nights Adam helps the senior coaches at the clubs Junior training sessions, mentoring the under 8 riders and any newcomers to the aces each week. He is a fantastic role model for the young riders in the sport.

Adams said in response to his award, “I would like to thank the people who have nominated me for this award and I am very proud to be the first person to receive it from the mayor of Wolverhampton and for the sport of Cycle Speedway.”

Well done Adam, keep up the good work.
