RIP Brian Maunder

Exeter Cycle Speedway lost an irreplaceable member of their club earlier this week in Brian Maunder.

Countless tributes have been paid to Brian across Cycle Speedway and beyond, after his passing was announced on social media. Brian, dubbed as “Mr Exeter Cycle Speedway” played a key role in keeping the club on it’s feet throughout the years and always focused his attention on the youth, forever encouraging Exeter’s young riders to enter the British Youth and Junior League, overseeing so many young riders develop.

ICSF secretary and Exeter club man, Dave Murphy wrote his tribute on Facebook earlier this evening, it read: “Earlier this week, Exeter Cycle Speedway Club has lost one of its finest ambassadors with the passing of Brian Maunder. He was a man who made such a difference whilst encouraging the development of young people in sport. He successfully led the ‘Exeter Aces’ through a difficult period in the clubs history – He was (and still remains) an Exeter Cycle Speedway Legend who will be greatly missed. RIP Brian Maunder – God Bless.”
