AUSTRALIA: Geertsen on top in Rufus Memorial meeting

The annual event in memory of Bill Rufus, the driving force behind the successful Le Fevre Club, saw a capacity entry over the various divisions on Saturday.

In the highly contested Open Championship it was the reigning Australian Individual Champion, Ty Geertsen (pictured above), who captured the major award from Shane Weinert, Jack Norman and Braden Makepeace.

In the Ladies event home based Lucy Millikin was a clear victor with Letita Collins, Holly Greenhalgh and Sarah Kinross taking the minor podium positions.

It is very evident that with the 2017 Worlds in mind the host nation have an unlimited resource of talent that will highly contest all the major events.
