TANDEM CHALLENGE: Donations reach £2k

Northumbria’s Gavin Parr and Edinburgh’s Jason Burke set off on their gruelling Tandem challenge tomorrow, and overnight the total raised smashed the £2,000 barrier.

The pair, raising money for Cancer Research UK and Sheffield Hospitals Charity begin their 150 mile coast to coast trip from Whitehaven, Cumbria finishing up 12 hours later in Tynemouth on Tyneside.

The challenge is celebrating Jason’s 5 years “all clear” from cancer. Even though they’ve hit the heights of two grand, they are still keen to raise as much money as possible for their worthy causes.
