COACHING: Outstanding Level 2 coaches encouraged to finish course

British Cycling recently wrote to all Level 2 coaches who are yet to complete their course, hoping to encourage them back onto the scheme.

British Cycling Cycle Speedway Coaching commissioner, Bob Prince, has set up a Coaching workgroup to assist would-be coaches in the four regions, all the details for those in the workgroup are in the letter below.

The deadline is in a matter of days, so if you are one of these candidates but haven’t replied, time is running out!

Following the development of a Cycle Speedway Workgroup, British Cycling and the Cycle Speedway Commission wish to support you (as a candidate or trainee Level 2 coach) to complete your qualification, and progress to a Cycle Speedway specific qualification within the next 12 months.

The requirements for completion will vary from re-registration, completion of coursework or safeguarding and first aid qualifications, to DBS checks or renewal of membership.

To register your commitment to complete, and to receive some financial assistance with completion, please contact the Coaching & Education Team at British Cycling, either by email or telephone by 31st March 2016.

Along with support from Coach Education, you will also have support from regional representatives in Cycle Speedway:

North John Burston mrjb21@hotmail.com
South West and Wales Stuart Raven stuart_raven@btinternet.com
Eastern Phil Clarke ics@clarkehq.com
Midlands Jack Hibberd jackhibberd@hotmail.com

Please note that after the deadline of 31st March 2016, we will contact all registered candidates and trainees to confirm the next steps. If you have not contacted us, we will assume you are no longer actively coaching and will update records accordingly here.

Kind regards

Vinny Webb
