MATCH REPORT: Astley convincing at home away from home

Astley and Tyldesley rode to an easy double of wins in Sunday’s Northern League fixture against Glasgow. A&T raced this home fixture at Stockport, whilst the Gin Pit circuit is being re-built.

In the Division 2 match, Glasgow opened up with a 7-3 heat win, as Carl Jarvis team rode Brandon Kay through against Ciaran Collins and Matt Snell. A&T hit back in the best possible way with three successive 7-3 wins of their own, to take control of the match and never look back.

The new Gin Pit circuit is shaping up nicely.

Report from the Glasgow camp

This match was held at a cold and wet Stockport due to the track work currently taking place at A&T.

Glasgow started well, opening up with a 7-3 from Jarvis and Kay but the lead was short lived, A&T in reply blasting in three consecutive maximums of their own to take total control of the meeting.

The home side simply had too much strength in depth, and whilst none could go through the card everyone scored well. Glasgow never stopped trying but could never match the gating ability of A&T.
