2016 CLUB CHAMPS: Ipswich and Leicester retain titles on day one

Ipswich and Leicester retained their U19 and Ladies Club Championship titles at Leicester this afternoon.

On the first day of the consolidated Club Championships, Ipswich went into their U19 category hoping to make it 4 titles on the bounce.

They knew they would have a tough challenge to face in the form of Wednesfield, but the Eagles held firm with a solid team performance, finishing all but one race in second or first.

Wednesfield will rue two exclusions but still comfortably held second place. East Park took the final rostrum space.

In the Ladies category, the girls of Leicester won an incredible 11th club championship in a row.

Ipswich ran them close with some consistent scoring, but were powerless to stop the Monarchs, with the Whitehead trio of Michelle, Lucy and Chloe and Lizzie Rigley all returning high scores.

Poole claimed the final place on the rostrum, while Sheffield missed their world champion, Vicky Brown, who is away on holiday.
