2016 CLUB CHAMPS: Wednesfield, Kesgrave and Ipswich conclude Club Championships on top

Wednesfield Aces rode a smart final, bringing in three fresh pairs of legs to be crowned Open champions on day three of the 2016 British Club Championships at East Park.

Team GB captain, Paul Heard was in fine form, top scorer the match, while Ipswich battled hard in second, and despite a late run of victories, Stockport had to settle for third ahead of fourth placed East Park.

The second place did ensure Ipswich once again were the Club Championship champions, after accumulating the highest total overall.

Kesgrave won back to back under 13 titles just before the open final, ahead of hard chasing Ipswich, while Coventry defeated Bury in a run off for third place.

The Panther’s star man, Lewis Brinkoff, rode to an impressive maximum, but all the Kesgrave riders played their part in ensuring the title went back to suffolk.

It was a meeting full of thrills and spills with Coventry’s under 10 prospect Ronnie Wassall coming to grief heavily after a challenge up the inside in the early stages, but bravely carried on to finish his rides.
