Team GB

Friday night, and the Great Britain team lost out by six points to Poland. Costly mistakes on the dusty Southampton circuit destroyed Team GB’s chances of a comeback after keeping the scores tight in the first half.

It was better news for the GB Juniors last night at Poole, they comfortably took victory against Poland, which really underlines the British potential at youth level.

European Nations Team Cup

Poland took the gold medal by two points in the Senior European Nations Team Cup. England pushed them all the way after trail for the whole match, they almost leveled with Poland with two races remaining, but the Poles held firm and took home the spoils, ahead of England and Wales in third.

England dominated proceedings in the Junior event, taking a comprehensive gold medal. Poland secured second place, ahead of the hard working Welsh team, who picked up the bronze.

Finals day

A healthy seven Great Britain riders make up the final 16 in the European Senior Final. Paul Heard, Ben Mould, Zac Payne, Myke Grimes, Josh Brooke, Jake Read and Mark Carmichael all made the cut. Poland fill the rest of the draw, with former champions Szymanski, Ganczarek and current champion, Paradzinski all present.

Seven Brits also qualified for the Junior Final. Ben Tinsdale, Jake Neighbour, Brandon Whetton, Lee Kemp, Carl Parfitt, Jay Briggs and Adam Watson fly the home flag and there’s an excellent chance one of them will stand on top of the podium.
