SKY SPORTS: World Cycle Speedway final set for TV screens tonight

The 2015 World Cycle Speedway final will be shown throughout the UK across the Sky Sports platform this Wednesday (2nd November) in another promotional boost for the sport following last week’s television coverage of the Great Britain V Australia Test match from Coventry.

Sponsored by Tyre City, the final will come from the superb Wednesfield Aces track in Wolverhampton. It features some explosive action – with a stunning and controversial climax.

The World Final action will be aired in the long running `Sports Unlimited` programme on Sky Sports 3 (Sky Sports channel 303), at the peak time of 7.30pm. It will then be repeated on the same channel at 11pm on Wednesday evening.

It will then be further repeated on Thursday 3rd November at 2.30am on Sky Sports 5. It will then be shown in 32 countries worldwide, with a global reach of 190 million homes.

Joe McLaughlin, who pitched, networked, found endless sponsors and worked with Sky producers to bring Cycle Speedway this fantastic national, and international, coverage, said: “I am delighted that the World Final will be shown this week in the UK, and, later around the world. This coverage is brilliant exposure, if not as long as originally planned.

“I would like to thank all the riders, clubs and sponsors in assisting me to make this happen. Special thanks to my respected colleague Graham Sutton for his tremendous efforts and to Rob Haywood for his filming and editing skills.

“I would confirm I am in further discussions with two major outlets for more Cycle Speedway events on TV. However, there will be changes and the output will be Coventry based, with Shaun Reynolds and Myke Grimes joining the production team, alongside the introduction of Go Pros and drone cameras”.
