CLUB NEWS: Ramsden closes gap on Turnbull in Bury winter challenge

With a track session planned for Sunday, the usual winter training group turned up at 12pm, but as expected, due to the frost the surface was unrideable.

So, the 5 riders available made the 1 mile ride down the river bank and over the bridge to the access path to the local industrial estate, where a steep hill awaited them.

First rider off was Asim, finishing in 1 min 12.9 secs. Second off was Eryk, narrowly pipping Asim in 1 min 11.8secs.

Series leader Adam Turnbull came next, who recorded 1 min 05.1 secs. Kaysar was next and set the fastest time so far in 1 min 3.3 secs.

Last man off was Kristian, who won the last long hill climb, and he went under the 1 min barrier with 59.8 secs.

After a check through the starting time gaps, the results were 1st Kristian, 2nd, Kaysar, 3rd Adam, 4th Eryk and 5th just behind Eryk by 0.9 of a second, Asim.

This result has closed the gap between Adam and Kristian, down to 1 point with two events left, Kaysar has now moved up to 3rd overall .

This event was again ridden on Cycle Speedway bikes all on 33/18 gearing.

Linda Turnbull was again start marshall and John Burston time keeper.
