TEAM GB: Morton joins Womens team in coaching role

With Natalie Timms not going to Australia Womens Team GB announce that Emily Morton, Cycle Speedway’s only current qualified level 2 female CS coach, has been added as assistant coach/manager to Stuart Raven and Geoff Gamage.

Emily will also be responsible for specific womens welfare issues and first aid.

Geoff Gamage commented: “I would like to publicly thank Natalie for everything she has done, not just for Team GB, but also the womens racing in general. She stepped down from her role as Womens League manager at the end of last season too.

“Natalie’s contribution was vital and at an important time with the rise in womens racing. I have privately thanked her too.”

Emily completed her Cycle Speedway discipline specific level 2 course last October and it is hoped other women in the sport will follow her lead in gaining their coaching qualifications.
