CLUB NEWS: Monarchs shine at BYJL Round 1

The first round of the BYJL took place in Leicester with a good turn out of mini Monarchs.

Newcomer, Charlie Buet Gannon impressed in his first competition in the U10s scoring 14 points and going directly into the A final where he finished fourth.

In U12s, Connor Steel joint top scored to go directly to the A final where he finished second. Dylan Hawtin also made the A final and came in fourth place. Rebekah Humphries finished second in the B final.

Three Monarchs riders took part in the U18s. Ewan Hancox was unbeaten in the qualifiers but came third in the A final. William Arkinstall started with a race victory and made the B final where he finished in fourth place. Jake Steel came second in the C final.

The Monarchs start their Midland League programme with a visit from East Park on Sunday at the Perry Hall circuit. Action starts at 1pm.

Training is every Tuesday and Thursday from 4th April with a British Cycling approved coach.
