PREVIEW: British Youth and Junior League regional round 2

The second round of the BYJL takes place this Saturday with rounds being held at Bury, Ipswich, Southampton and Wednesfield.

A fortnight ago the sunshine helped to bring out the riders with a healthy 190 young riders taking part in Cycle Speedway’s flagship junior competition – hopefully with the Easter holidays coming to a close and some missing riders returning the numbers might reach the 200 mark this weekend.

2015 and 2016 Club competition winners Poole once again led the way in numbers participating with an amazing 31 riders present at Underwood, Ipswich provided 20 riders, closely followed by Kesgrave with 19 and the two tracks of Coventry provided 18 riders.

But it was equally important to see riders from Hellingly back in the competition, making the long journey to ride in the Eastern rounds.

As always, riders just need to turn up and sign in with the BYJL Co-ordinator with registration from 30 minutes before the round’s start time, which is 12pm for all rounds, apart from the North who start at 1pm.

Finally a reminder that the competition is open to riders of all nationalities.
