MATCH REPORT: BYJL South West & Wales Round 2

There were sixty five entrants yesterday at a well prepared Southampton track for the BYJL SW&W round 2.

In the U8s, Jack Tidball (Exeter) once again came first in the A final from gate 1. He was followed by the Poole trio, Rylee Dunford, Max Collins and Eli Lamb.

There were eighteen U10 riders, where JJ Wildman showed his gating power by winning the A final from gate 4. Poole’s Oliver Saunders was runner up from gate 1. Home rider, Sonny Whale, 3rd from gate 2 and McKenzie Laing from Exeter 4th.

Rosie Tidball proves she’s untouchable from a gate 1 in the U12s by winning A final while Poole’s Joe Hurren battled through the field to finish second from gate 3. Exeter’s Shannon Tucker was in fine form with third and Horspath’s Jamie Brown fourth

In the U14s, Dan Wright from Newport won the A final from grid 3 while Ben Stanbury from Exeter came second from grid 1. Poole’s Nathan Goulden was third, with Harry Stanbury fourth.

Will Jeffery (Horpath) missed the first round in the U18s but showed fine form clinching the A final win from gate 2. Poole’s Fraser Garnett came second from grid 3 with Callum Smith, also from Poole, coming third. Sean Bennett had a nasty fall and was excluded but still picked up sixteen GP points.

Finally, in the Girls category, Poole’s Macie Schmidt was once again untouchable from gate 3 with team mate, Madeline Saunders, second from grid 1. Horspath’s Alice was third and Poole’s Bethany Briggs fourth.
