PREVIEW: British Youth and Junior League | Regional Round 3

The third round of the BYJL takes place this Saturday with rounds being held at Exeter, Coventry, Norwich, and Stockport.

This year’s competition has proved to be very popular with many new riders taking part, and it’s possible those numbers will be added to this weekend as the Coventry round may see one or two young riders from Nuneaton BMX Club competing.

They have been regular attendees at Coventry’s training nights since last year and are keen to attend, if schedule allows, to represent Nuneaton BMX at Cycle Speedway. The BMXers feel Cycle Speedway offers a new angle for their sprint training and bike handling skills, with the riders seeing the benefits in their native discipline. Girl racer, Markella Houli’s lightning fast starts could see her do well if she’s able to attend.

Just a reminder that any rider in the U12 and above categories who wishes to ride in the National Rounds, but has not yet participated in the Regional Rounds so far this year, must compete in this and the next round to qualify. There is no qualification requirement for the U8s and U10s to compete in the Little League events at the National Rounds.

As always, riders just need to turn up and sign in with the BYJL Co-ordinator with registration from 30 minutes before the round’s start time, which is 12 noon for all rounds, apart from the North, who start at 1pm. All nationalities are welcome to compete.
