Early pace setters Pierce Bacon, Carl Parfitt and Fraser Garnett are all among the the confirmed riders for the elite junior class so far.

The Oasis Leisure Centre track will no doubt provide some excellent racing for round two. Newport’s Ben Mould currently leads the standings in the elite men class, meanwhile Sheffield’s Ed Morton sprung an early season surprise by taking the full 25 points in a run off against Brandon Whetton and Carl Parfitt in the elite junior class in round one.

A rider’s top 3 scores from the 4 rounds contribute to the final standings.

Seeding update

At a recent British Cycling Cycle Speedway Commission meeting, the following seeding was agreed for both classes to ensure a 16 rider semi-final takes place if entries are over 16:

Where there are 17-24 riders entered, up to 8 riders currently ranked highest in the HSBC | UK Elite GP standings will be seeded into the final. The semi final must have 16 riders, which dictates the total number of seeded riders.

For over 24 riders, two semi finals will be run.

For round one, seeding will be taken from the final standings from the previous season.
