MATCH REPORT: Aces defeat battling Coventry

Wednesfield went to Coventry today for a Midland League match Division 1,2 and 3 encounter on Sunday afternoon. The sun was shining and the track had been well prepared.

The first match on track was the division 3 fixture. The young riders from both clubs came out to show what we can expect to see in the future. Some great battles and huge potential on display from the young riders. The future of both clubs looks promising going by Sunday’s performance. Coventry emerged victorious by 84-66.

The first division match was a different affair, Coventry had a few riders missing, but still fielded a good squad but Wednesfield had come fully tooled up. Although Coventry battled hard, they were up against it from the start and Wednesfield came out comfortable winners 109-69.

The division 2 match was much closer, going one way, then the other, with riders putting it in everywhere. Again, some very good up and coming youngsters put on a great spectacle from both teams, but wednesfield came out winners by one point, 75-74.

In summary, it was a great afternoon of racing with a good crowd to watch as well. The overall winner was Cycle Speedway.
