BYJL: Round 4 in Sheffield moved to Cookson Park

The final National round of the BYJL at Sheffield on Saturday 9 September will now be held at Cookson and not the Graves track.

The Sheffield Club were hoping to have the Graves track back up to racing standard by September. This now looks doubtful, and with concerns over parking availability at the newly refurbished sports centre, the decision has been made to run the event at Cookson (which held the ‘Battle of Britain’ event earlier in the year).

This though will have it’s problems, as the September 9 date clashes with a Sheffield Wednesday home fixture. However some good news announced this week by Sky TV is that the match v Nottingham Forest will kick off at 5.30, having been selected for live TV.

This will mean the area around Cookson getting busy with traffic and Parking problems from 3.30 onwards, by which time hopefully the Cycle Speedway contingent will either have departed for home or already be in attendance.

Further details will be announced closer to the event.
