MATCH REPORT: East Park look to re-build after heavy defeat
At 1pm on Sunday, East Park Wolves hosted a Midland League division 3 junior match against Birmingham, which features new riders trying to make their name in the Cycle Speedway game.
The Wolves conceded the match by 31-48. John Walsh, Alicia Gdowska, Brendon Sidebotham, Ethan Schambley, and Wolverhampton Wheeler’s Will Farmer did their best, but Birmingham’s mini Monarchs were just to good.
Maximum scores from Conner Steel, Ryan Winwood, Rebecca Humphries saw an easy win for the visitors.
The division 1 Midland League match was to be a convincing win for the visitors. Four paid maximums for the Monarchs from Chris Timms, Scott Millward, Ewan Hancox and Steve Hodgkinson dominated the score chart, giving Birmingham a winning score of 117 points over 61 points for the East Park Wolves.
East Park are having to rebuild their team this back end of the season and have alot to do, they were not able to provide one heat winner. The best efforts were Bob Prince and Jake White, both fininshing on 10 points, both with two second places and captain Josh Hill 9 points.
New finds this season provided the best support, Adam Mabberley and Ben Ferguson both scored a fighting 7 points. Congratulations to Birmingham, their experience was always going to show through, but watch this space East Park have lots of juniors and are building for the future.
The Midland League division 2 match was a massive win for the Monarchs by a 55-95 margin, adjusted down to 46-74 after the handicap was applied to the division 1 riders; Josh Hill, Mark Winwood and Steve Hodgkinson.
The score chart showed Birmingham with severn riders all on double figures, including Rebecca Humphries, with a fine 10 points to her name.
The only wins East Park Wolves managed all day were in this match, and the boys to watch were Nataniel Pikor and Alexander Maslanka. One win each, no heat wins, but both saw the chequed flag, congratulaions to both.
The next event at East Park is the British Individual Championships Semi Finals.
