MATCH REPORT: Runners up for Hawks Division 2 side
Hethersett Hawks/Myhill Decorators rounded off their South East & Eastern League campaign with a rearranged Division 2 match with Norwich.
The visitors had a makeshift team on the day, who, to their credit, never gave up, but they were no match for the Hawks who were even able to rest more experienced riders and give extended runs to Ayrin and George Larter, the ever improving Paul Delaiche and recent recruit Danny Machin.
The victory for Hethersett B ensured the runners-up spot in the final table (see below) and the side had Machin, Liam Webster and Glyn Morgan unbeaten.

Morgan’s performance was even more significant given that he had been racing in Glasgow the previous day in an Eurovets round where he did well to score 13 points to earn a place in the Over 50s B Final and was well pleased with a second place there after drawing the unfavourable outside starting position.
There were successes too in the midweek final Norfolk Go Ride round at Harford Park. George Larter (Under-10s) Owen Wells (Under-16) and Harley Hamill (Senior) were winners on the night and stepping onto the podium for the series were George Larter (Under-10s 1st), Owen Wells, Paul Delaiche and Ayrin Larter (Top 3 in Under-16s) and then Owen Wells and Leigh Cossey (2nd and 3rd in the Seniors).
This Saturday, Owen Wells will race in Sheffield in the final round of the British Junior Grand Prix, and then the Hawks have an exciting new challenge on Sunday, contesting the British KO Cup Regional Play-off at Ipswich (2 pm)
