HSBC ELITE GP: Sheffield offer fastest lap bonus

Sheffield will again offer a cash incentive should a new track record be set at Cookson when the HSBC Grand Prix series begins on Sat 14th April.

At the 2017 Battle of Britain match between the North and Scotland v Midlands the incentive brought about two storming rides in the last two races, as first Paul Heard reduced the record only for Myke Grimes to go out in the next race to set the current record at 37:81. Heard was close at the recent Frank Knight memorial Meeting, with the quickest time of the day at 38:16. A top effort this early in the season.

The new record holder will go home with £30. Even if the record is not bettered, the rider with the quickest time in the Junior and Senior events will be awarded £10.

Meanwhile, the junior event has prize money of £20, £10 and £5 for the top three, funded but the Sheffield club.
