HSBC UK ELITE GP: Entries close today

Entries for the opening round of the HSBC UK Elite GP close this evening (Sunday 8 April).

Day entry is permitted at the event, taking place at the fast Cookson Park circuit, but will cost an extra £5.

In the Elite Men’s class there are some riders making their debuts, most notably Poole’s Polish international, Dawid Bas. A qualifier is likely for the elite men, with the top 4 from 2017’s standings seeded into the final 16, and as always, prize money for the top 5 is up for grabs.

Sheffield have stumped up the cash for elite junior class prize money, which will hopefully set a precedent for future rounds. Juniors can test themselves further by competing in the elite men’s class.

Round 2 takes place in Ipswich, with Coventry hosting round 3, along with a pilot for the Elite GP Pairs competition and rumours of increased sponsored prize money. Newport bring the series to a close and host round 4.
