RIDER NEWS: Iron Dan

Dan Chambers is undertaking some endurance events this year in order to fundraise money for charities.

If you would like to donate to any of the charities mentioned in the article below then visit the mydonate page at the bottom of the article:

Throughout 2018 I will be competing in several endurance sporting events whilst also raising £2700 for Macmillan and The Princes Trust charities. The events I will be undertaking are;

Marathon – 8th April @Bungay (Completed in 3:27)
Half Ironman Triathlon – 20th May @ Huntingdon
Ironman Triathlon – 8th July @ Hever Castle
Land End to John O Groats – 9th to 16th September

A Half Ironman consists of a 1.2 mile swim in Grafham water, a 56 mile bike ride stretching to St. Neots and Bedford before a 13.1 mile run around the perimeter of Grafham water which is all to be completed within the 8.5 hour cut off.

An Ironman doubles all distances mentioned above and takes place as part of the Festival of Endurance at Hever Castle in Kent with the cycle containing several laps of Ashdown Forest.
The 969 miles from the very hilly and most South Westerly point of the UK to the equally hilly highlands and most North Easterly will take 9 days of continuous cycling at an average of 108 miles per day.

These events are undertaken to ensure Macmillan are able to offer the fantastic support to cancer victims, and The Princes Trust can provide support and encouragement to disadvantaged children & young adults.

Any donation will be gratefully received and your support is very lifting – https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/danchambers2
