HOME INTERNATIONAL: Payne names England Junior team

England Junior Team manager Zac Payne has selected his team for the Junior Home international on July 6th, giving 3 people there debuts.
He explains his selections below:

“Coming in as manager I wanted to give people the opportunity they deserve. Ben Clarke, Jack Ellis and Lewis Foxley have really impressed me so far this season and thoroughly deserve the chance to race for their country.

“Leading the team will be Lewis Brinkoff who represented England last year out in Poland, Lewis has been riding well so far this season for new club Ipswich and is definitely one of the best junior riders in the country at the moment.

“Will Jeffery joins the England line up after an impressive tour in Australia in 2017 riding for Great Britain and England. He has also been a key part of the Horspath team for many seasons and is a very clever rider on track who likes to impress the crowd with a pass or two!

“The first of 3 debutants is Ben Clarke, another Ipswich rider. Ben was crowned last years Junior British Champion and claimed a second spot in the Junior Laurels event earlier in May and passing teammate Lewis in the run off.

“Another Horspath rider coming through the ranks is Jack Ellis who over the last year has really matured as a rider, coming on leaps and bounds. It won’t be long before he is challenging for the top spot and making a name for himself.

“Finishing the line up is Edinburgh Falcons Lewis Foxley who similarly to Jack has really matured as a rider and earned his place in the line up. Lewis’s attitude is one of the best I have seen from a junior rider, he shows how much he loves the sport and wants to do well for his club and country.”
