WEEKEND PREVIEW: Club Championships & Regional racing

There is a full schedule of racing this weekend following a break for the British Individual Championships. The action gets underway on Saturday with the Wil Burns Memorial Pairs event at Leicester where there are 2 semi-finals starting at noon and 2pm with the Final at 5pm. Meanwhile at Poole the first British Club Championships will be decided in the Under 12 & Under 14 categories as well as the Little League Club Championships. The Junior Club Championship, which was scheduled to be staged at Poole on Saturday, has been cancelled due to only 2 entries being received. All those travelling to Poole on Saturdayare reminded that it is the weekend of the annual Bournemouth Air Festival and high levels of traffic are expected on all routes leading to the South Coast.
We start our preview of Sunday’s racing in the North & Scotland League where 7 of the 8 teams will be in action. In Division 1 Edinburgh have a crucial match at Hull to determine who will finish runners up to A&T. Stockport have their own important match when they face Bury Comets on the same day, the winners will take the final play off spot. There will be Division 2 & Division 3 matches for both of these fixtures.
The match of the day is in Division 2 at Gin Pit where Astley & Tyldeslley take on unbeaten Fife in a match which will have a say on where the Division 2 title ends up. A&T have lost only 1 match in this Division and that was to Fife. This match starts at 3pm but before that Team Green entertain Glasgow at 1pm. Bury also host Fife with a 1pm start. These fixtures will also include Division 3 matches
Moving down to the Midlands there are 2 matches in all 3 Divisions with East Park taking on Coventry and Wednesfield taking on Leicester where the Division 1 match will also count towards the Crossover League.
2 fixtures take place in the South & South Wales region as Poole take on Horspath in a league match whilst East newport stage the 2nd round of the Rose Bowl

1 match takes place in the South-East & Eastern League where Great Blakenham welcome the Hellingly Lions in a Division 2 match
