Bury hosted Round 1 of the Manchester Individual Grand Prix series at Goshen on Sunday. Conditions were ideal for racing on a cool, cloudy afternoon, with 21 riders turning out.

Astley & Tyldesley’s Tom Morrissey raced to an untroubled maximum in the u-13s match. A&T’s Duncan Whalley inflicted the only defeat on Bury’s Tom Dunphy with a fine pass in heat 12. Whalley lost twice to Morrissey. Bury’s Harry Radford rode to a fine maximum in the Junior match, including a great pass on Sheffield’s Kielan Burton in heat 4. Radford kept up his good form with 15 points in the Senior match, losing only to A&T’s Reece Pollitt in heat 7. The two unbeaten riders, Pollitt and Bury’s Kris Ramsden met in the last race of the day, heat 12. Ramsden led for three laps, before Pollitt burst through on the inside to complete his maximum score, with Ramsden 2nd.
