The Astley & Tyldesley Cycling Club are delighted to announce that they will be hosting the 2022 European Cycle Speedway Championships.

This was confirmed in an official press release issued by the International Cycle Speedway Federation.

“As a consequence of postponing the [2022] World Championships. the ICSF has brought forward the re-arranged staging of the European Championships, from 2023 to 2022. The Championships were originally due to be promoted by the Astley & Tyldesley club in England in 2021, but were postponed, due to the Covid pandemic. The European Championships will now be staged at Astley & Tyldesley, between Friday 29th and Sunday 31st July 2022. “

The European Championships have been held on a bi-annual basis, since the first championships were held in the Netherlands in 1994. This will be the first time that the Championships have been held in the North & Scotland Cycle Speedway Region.

The Club will issue further details, as their preparations progress.
