MATCH REPORT: Newport recover from sluggish start to beat Exeter

Newport cycle speedway club were back in league action when they defeated Exeter by 91 points to 87 at Newport’s sports village.

The home team were very sluggish in the first half, suffering from a few track errors which meant they went into the interval 5 points adrift of Exeter.

The races were mainly shared heats in the second half with both teams racing within themselves.

Newport ran out winners after recording a 1st and 2nd place in the final heat, through the impressive Adam Bennett and Callum Goward combination.

Newport hope to have both Ben Mould and Sam Marsh available for their next meeting when Poole visit Newport.
