CLUB NEWS: Hawks have break from racing

HETEHRSETT HAWKS / YELLOW BRICK MORTGAGES had a Bank Holiday weekend break from racing but one member was on his travels again. Glyn Morgan was at Wednesfield in the West Midlands to contest Round Two of the Eurovets series. It was certainly a test of his fitness as he ended up having seven races on the big circuit.

In the joint Over-50 / Over-60 heats he scored 14 points which were enough to get him into the Over-50s B Final where he finished 4th. The 16 points awarded for that place added to his score in Round One now sees him in 5th place in the Over-50s.

His main focus is the Over-6-s and he had done enough to get into the A Final. He finished runner-up in the Final behind his old regional adversary Ray Pyke from Kesgrave but the 23 points kept him top of the series leader board after his win at Horspath.

The Hawks have a busy week ahead with a Norfolk Grand Prix at Harford Park on Wednesday (7 p.m.) for Undeer-16s, Females (10+) and Seniors. There is also Grand Prix action at Ipswich on Saturday before the South-East League teams make the six-hour round trip to Sussex on Sunday to race Hellingly.
