CLUB NEWS: Falcons withdraw from North & Scotland League Division 1

Edinburhg Falcons Cycle Speedway Club have released the following statement which appeared on their Facebook page earlier this evening:

“It is with great regret that we have to announce that the Falcons have dropped out of division 1 racing this year.
“This year has been a tough season for the Falcons and in order to rebuild our club, we made the difficult decision to focus on the rebuild, rather than racing in meetings that we can’t compete in. It is the best decision with what we’ve got.
“Our aim is to get the club in a better place and work on Introducing new club members to our amazing sport.
“We will be back racing top flight speedway but for the mean time we will focus on Scottish 4s and division 2 league racing.”

As a result of this their visits to Astley & Tyldesley and then Bury on Sunday have been cancelled.

Falcons rider Jake Slight has been signed by Fife Revolutions on loan and Fife are grateful to the North & Scotland Committee for sanctioning the move. Jake will make his debut for the Revolutions on Sunday as they visit Bury at midday and then Astley & Tyldesley at 3pm
