NEWS: Anonymous donation stuns Monarchs
An anonymous member of the public called into Slater Street on Wednesday to hand over £100, much to the surprise of club treasurer, Ross Mee.
The benevolent donator had seen the Monarch’s appeal in the media and decided to contribute to the cause. This will no doubt soften the blow for the members of the East Midlands side, to see the more positive side of the community coming to their aid. This is the second £100 donation, following the much appreciated generosity of Wednesfield, at the weekend.
The good will is not limited to individuals. Local corporate heavyweights Walkers Crisps have also answered the call for aid by donating several boxes of their products to sell on race day, along with food distributors Samworths, who are supplying sandwiches for Saturday’s BYJL event, thanks to the sterling efforts of Kathryn Wood for obtaining the donations.
The appeal is still on-going and you can donate to show your support by clicking here.
