MATCH REPORT: Whirlwinds keep in the hunt

Ipswich took a depleted team to Norfolk and came out on top after a battling performance against an determined Norwich team, who were equally a couple of riders down, which made for an entertaining match.

The Whirlwinds were always in control, but knew they couldn’t take the Norfolk outfit for granted with the Medler, Wenn and Colby carrying the fight to their Suffolk neighbours.

This result keeps the champions in the hunt to retain their crown, with the battle likely to go right down to the wire. With news that Ipswich Eagles won at home to East London 110- 70, there’s only two points separating the top three. The Eagles’ next match is away to Hethersett, then all three teams are set to meet each other over the coming weeks.

It will take a brave individual to call where the title will end up in the tightest South East League title race for years.
