MATCH REPORT: Aces demolish Poole to secure title

The new “Champions” Wednesfield Aces claimed the Elite league title this afternoon, with a convincing win over visiting team Poole, with still one fixture to come against last year’s winners Horspath (Oxford) away on 4th October.

The Aces maintained their unbeaten run this season with a well disciplined performance throughout the team that also including three under 16 year old riders,

Poole turned out on the day with a team minus several of their first team riders but they did not let their heads drop and raced till the end. Led by Greg Gluchowski and the experienced Steve Harris, the only time during the match that Poole gained a race advantage was in heats 9 and 11, when the Aces had tapes exclusions, other than that the home team did not put a foot wrong, with double points scores for all riders except the number 9 and 10 who only came in for a reserve race.

Elite League Combination

The Aces combination team followed on with their own convincing win against a Poole team that included four of their first team riders, the Aces being crowned champions with closest rivals Sheffield trailing by 7 league points and only one fixture to go.
