NEWS: Yale and ASSA ABLOY pick up “Black Country Sports Award for Business in Sports” gong
Congratulations to our website and all round Cycle Speedway supporters, Yale and ASSA ABLOY, who have won the prestigious Business in Sport award from the Black Country Sport and Physical Activity Awards.
A spokesman for the world famous company commented, “Yale have sponsored several events in the Black Country during 2015, including Cycle Speedway, the Cycle Speedway World Final in Wednesfield Aces, and we have continued to support Chloe Machin, a fantastic young Karate athlete. Our sponsorship of Chloe enabled her to compete in the Karate World Championships in Japan!
“Yale has been a supporter of Wednesfield Aces and Cycle Speedway since the Aces clubhouse fire in 2013, where Yale installed new security systems and was also the sponsor of the 2014 British Under 13 club championship staged at Wednesfield. Most recently, ASSA ABLOY and Yale have sponsored the ICSF World Junior and Woman’s Finals on Sunday 9th August 2015.”
Yale were up against Sainsbury’s, who had done a lot of work with schools nationwide to promote healthy lifestyles, but the judging panel decided that Yale’s locally led sports support was an excellent example of how businesses can use sport for the benefit of the local community.
Well done to all involved and on behalf of the sport, thank you!
