CLUB NEWS: Gin Pit set for major track re-build

Astley and Tyldesley’s Gin Pit is set to undergo a substantial refurbishment, after the Manchester club were allocated new funding assisted through British Cycling.

Gin Pit was built by three volunteers 25 years ago and the club believes the constant upkeep required to the current circuit distracts club members from more pressing matters like coaching and rider development.

The only downside is the track will be unavailable for the 6 week period when building work takes place. At the end of it, club members will be able to enjoy a new look Gin Pit, with a slightly different shape and size, with added banking on the bends.

It has taken 10 years for the club to secure this funding, so a huge congratulations is due to all involved. We look forward to seeing the results!
