MATCH REPORT: Swindon lose by three in season opener
Swindon Cycle Speedway Club ran out of steam in the final stages on Sunday to eventually lose to a solid looking Poole CSC.
Throughout the 18 heats, the scores were never more than four points apart, until a couple of costly errors in the final few heats finally swung the meeting in the visiting teams favour.
Poole’s Hayden Chant leads Swindon’s Steve Harris.
Jim Bailey was one of Swindon’s star performers, showing the extra winter training has been paying off, whilst Dean Hook finally got to grips with the technical Swindon circuit to keep the visitors in touch at all times.
Final score: Swindon 88 – 91 Poole.
The division two match also went the way of the South coast side, with the Robins losing out by 52 to 68.
