RESULTS: Midlands keep title hopes alive
The Midlands won a last heat decider in round 4 of the Supertrax Battle of Britain against previously unbeaten South East and East at Kesgrave, to take the points and keep them in the title race in the elite men’s class.
After a very tense match in front of a healthy crowd, you could hear a pin drop under orders in heat 20. The Midlands lead by one point, and it was the visitors who emerged victorious, eventually taking a 7-2.
The Midlands are now level on points with the South East and East with just two rounds remaining.
Earlier in the day the Midlands secured an emphatic win in the elite junior class are run away favourites for the title.
Over in Newport, the South West and Wales earned their first victory of the series in the elite men’s class against the North and Scotland.
However, it was the North and Scotland who pipped the South West and Wales by four points in the elite junior class.
