MATCH REPORT: Astley continue unbeaten run at Edinburgh
Astley & Tyldesley rode to a great hat trick of victories in today’s North & Scotland League fixture at Edinburgh.
In the Division 1 match, A&T took three heat wins in the opening four races to take an early ten points lead. The lead was nine points at the interval and A&T pulled away in the second half to run out winners, 94-79, as the 2017 League Champions beat the 2016 League Champions, to maintain their 100% record in the league this season.
No one raced unbeaten, but a solid scoring A&T team had greater strength in depth than the home team.
Veteran Steve Harris topped the scores for A&T, with strong support from Reece Pollitt and Adam Phillips. New North & Scotland Champion Jake Slight top scored for Edinburgh, although he was beaten three times by Adam Phillips.

A&T maintained their 100% record in Division 2 with a convincing 88-62 win. A&T opened up a ten points lead after five heats, to take control of the match.
Max Evans and Mark Grantham raced unbeaten for A&T, who had five youngsters all performing well, with special mention for 11 year old Tom Morrissey, who recorded a 20 points maximum score.
Best for Edinburgh were veteran riders Dode Mitchell, John Murphy and Lee Lawrence.

Division 3 champions A&T won 75-41, to keep up their 100% record in the league this season. For A&T, Duncan Whalley and Aiden Green were joint top scorers in the u-10 match, losing once to each other, whilst Tom Morrissey raced unbeaten in the u-13 category.
